Joe Batshoun has officially been named general manager of Art Rotana Amwaj Islands, a new art-inspired hotel which will open in Bahrain next month.
He has already been heading up the pre-opening team at the property, having built up over 25 years of hospitality experience across three different continents.
Batshoun previously opened Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island Abu Dhabi in 2009 and, prior to joining Rotana Group, was an area general manager with Marriott overseeing three properties.
"I am delighted to be working with the Art Rotana team and extremely excited to launch this luxurious property which will without doubt be a unique addition to the country’s vibrant hospitality offerings,” he said.

Located on the sea front of Amwaj Islands, Art Rotana will feature 311 sea view rooms and suites, fully equipped meeting rooms, conference facilities, a choice of restaurants and a fully equipped Beach Club, including Rotana’s signature Bodylines Fitness & Wellness facility.
The hotel will aim to be family friendly, offering different entertainment and attractions for children, including a kids club and waterpark, as well as supervised group activities.
It will also have a dancing fountain, blending light and music, while a permanent art collection under the theme ‘A moment in time’ will adorns the hotel lobby and reflect the artistic focus of the property.
