The Mall of Qatar, which will open by the end of year and feature the Middle East’s first hotel within Hilton Worldwide’s Curio collection, is to also house the world’s first indoor Angry Birds theme park.

Being developed in partnership with Rovio, the company behind the wildly popular video games, Angry Birds Activity Park will be part of the family entertainment centre at the mall.

Among the other attractions within the family entertainment centre will be a nineteen-screen cinema with over three thousand seats, featuring the largest IMAX screen in the world, which will introduce new 3D laser technology.

The theatre is being constructed on multiple levels and includes six exclusive VIP screens, bowling lanes and a host of in-theatre dining options.

Another concept being developed exclusively for the mall is Juniverse, a role-playing experience set in the future that offers up to 50 different modules allowing children the opportunity to experience what working on a space station will be like. One of the modules features a step back in time and an encounter with life-size animatronic dinosaurs.

Meanwhile, Virtuosity will provide a variety of virtual experiences, including putting visitors in the cockpit of either Formula 1 race cars or F16 Fighter jets. As part of a virtual concept, video gamers will be able to compete globally in a large gaming amphitheatre.

The Mall of Qatar will also bring the Hint Hunt and Clue Quest puzzle rooms from London, offering analytical challenges that can only be solved in a team-building partnership.

At the centre of the eight story high entertainment area will be a fully hydraulic and rotating stage, enabling live performances through a wide range of genres. Cafe terraces on all the levels surrounding it will provide guests with areas to view shows from.

Hilton Worldwide will open a 210-room, five-star fashion hotel under its Curio Collection by Hilton and the property will have a direct connection to the Mall of Qatar's exclusive Luxury Court.

With over five million square feet of built up area, the completed mall will be home to 80 F&B outlets, as well as 500 shops. Leases have already been signed for 60% of these shops, according to the main contractor of the project, Urbacon Trading & Contracting.
