The Courtyard by Marriott brand is close to hitting its 1000th hotel milestone, with a new 189-room property in Agra, the Indian city which is home to the Taj Mahal, its latest opening.
Among the rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott Agra are 18 suites, while the hotel also has more than 30,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor banquet space, which can accommodate up to 1200 guests.
Marriott International has kicked off six weeks of celebrations, which are expected to culminate on March 31, when Courtyard Walla Walla, the US state of Washington, will be designated as the 1000th hotel.

On that day, all Marriott Rewards guests checking into any Courtyard hotel around the world will receive 1000 points as a gift.
Among the openings taking the brand up to its 1000 mark are Courtyard Recife Boa Viagem, the first hotel for the brand in Brazil, and Courtyard Abu Dhabi, the first Marriott International property in the UAE capital.
