With the opening of two more hotels in the country, operator Carlson Rezidor has continued its rapid expansion in Saudi Arabia.

The company this week opened the new-build 150-room Radisson Blu Resort Jizan and the 90-room Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Dammam, which is a conversion.

They are two of 25 hotels, with more than 4900 rooms combined, Carlson Rezidor has open or under development across the country.

"Saudi Arabia shows substantial growth potential for the hospitality industry, stimulated by rapid economic development and ambitious public investment in a host of associated sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure and real estate," said Rezidor Hotel Group area vice president for the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa Mark Willis.

"We are committed to the development of the Kingdom, which is underpinned by a genuine focus by the government on economic diversification."

Meanwhile, Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Damman is centrally located on the city's Corniche Road and has two meeting rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge, and a wellness centre with spa and gym.

Earlier this month, Carslon Rezidor signed the 452-key Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence Jeddah Gate, which is set to open in 2017.

In October, the company signed a long-term development agreement with Al Hokair Group in Saudi Arabia to develop and operate more than 30 properties across the Kingdom over the next 15-20 years.
