Jumeirah Restaurant Group (JRG) Dubai has officially opened Naya at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, a casual dining restaurant offering north Indian cuisine.

Pravish Shetty is spearheading the culinary operations as the head chef and has created a menu for sharing. He has used authentic recipes collected over the years to create classic and contemporary north Indian dishes.

Commenting on the menu and specialities, Shetty said: “I use authentic flavours for each and every one of my creations, which all have their own twist, to give that wow factor. I created my own recipe for the dal and yellow dal, which has a lovely aroma and flavour without being overpowering."

For starters, diners can choose from a selection of samosas including tangy prawn and Punjabi, or savoury snacks known as chaat, like dahi puri chaat and papdi chaat, reminiscent of food found at road-side stalls across India.

Mains include kebabs and barbecue dishes cooked in clay ovens, seafood and fish dishes from the Bengali region of India, vegetarian options, traditional home-style curries, biryani, pulao, roti, tadka dal, dal makhni and freshly baked naan breads. The restaurant has an open kitchen, with an in-housetandoor and traditional sigri (coal) grill.

To complement the dishes, the beverage menu offers a selection of Indian inspired drinks including the mojito chaat cocktail, the sassy lassi, saffron iced tea, bottles of Indian hops and grape from around the world.

Located on the first floor of Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Naya offers panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf and Burj Al Arab Jumeirah from its semi-circular terrace.

It is the first home-grown Indian restaurant by JRG Dubai; the group currently has a portfolio of more than 60 restaurants and bars, including Pierchic, Tortuga, Pai Thai, The Agency and 360.
