Jumeirah at Etihad Towers hit the Hollywood big screen on April 3 in action film Fast & Furious 7, released cinemas across the globe on April 3.

In one of the film’s most memorable scenes, a car speeds out of the property’s towers and lands in the middle of a cocktail reception at the other tower.

During a VIP delegation at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, His Highness Sheikh Suroor Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, owner of Etihad Towers said: “We are happy that Abu Dhabi is a key location for Fast & Furious 7. So much action centres around Etihad Towers and its five-star Jumeirah hotel, apartments, offices and luxury boutiques."

“We hope that the film inspires people to come and experience Abu Dhabi. Please know that our friend Vin Diesel won’t be doing the valet parking - he’s family!”

The filming took place over three months in 2014 and guests staying at the hotel were able to catch a glimpse of the action from the Observation Deck at 300, the highest vantage point in the capital.

Jumeirah at Etihad Towers general manager, Stefan Fuchs, said: “It was an exceptional experience to host the crew during the filming. The hotel became their second home throughout the three months and we made sure they felt welcome and well taken care of.

“My colleagues and I are very proud to be working at one of the landmarks that represents the Emirate in the movie and hope its worldwide screening will stimulate people’s curiosity to visit Abu Dhabi and experience its outstanding leisure and cultural offerings.”

The cast of Fast & Furious 7 includes Vin Diesel, Jason Statham and Paul Walker.

The film pays tribute to Walker, who died as a passenger in a sports car accident in November 2013 in the middle of production.

Producers had to rewrite the film’s ending, and used special effects to finish Walker’s performance with the help of stand-ins.

The trailer was released during the US Super Bowl, one of the most-viewed TV events in the world with an audience of over 150 million viewers.
