He has also held IT roles with Habtoor Hospitality and Crowne Plaza where he learnt about the planning and implementation of new systems and system migration to IT solution provision and involvement in the technological application of corporate marketing strategies.

Mohamed Awadalla, CEO, Time Hotels said: “Joseph’s experience and in-depth understanding of both the hospitality sector and the light-speed nature of the IT world means that he is able to jump in at the deep end and take the lead in implementing corporate plans to upgrade our IT capabilities in order to drive new business opportunities.”

Following enhancements to its guest Internet service offerings last year, 2015 will see Time Hotels introduce virtual technology applications across its portfolio.

The company will take its pilot cloud computing programme to the next level, and will continue with the switch to using multi-function devices to reduce carbon footprint, energy costs and power consumption as part of its corporate sustainability mandate. Recently, Time Hotels announced that it had offset 326 tonnes of carbon emissions since the launch of its carbon offset initiative.

“It’s an extremely exciting time to join the Time Hotels team as growth plans for the region and the increasing geographic diversification of its portfolio requires an accelerated IT infrastructure designed to streamline operations, increase efficiency and add value to the guest experience.

It's more important now than ever before, that the industry invests into new technologies and applications as we move even further away from a tangible to a virtual operational environment, and Time is definitely looking to position itself as a leader in the field,” said Fayad.
