“Becoming the first ISO certified procurement consultants worldwide in our industry is key to the evolution of our business model. It has delivered a clear message that our work is structured, consistent and flexible.”

He further added that the company gaining ISO certification is a testament to the firm’s professionalism, dedication to quality service and customer satisfaction as recognised by ISO (the International Organisation for Standardisation).

ISO is an independent, non-governmental organisation, the members of which are the standards organisation of the 163 member countries. It is the world's largest developer of voluntary international standards. Use of the standards ensures that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality.

The standards help businesses increase productivity while minimising errors and waste. By enabling products from different markets to be directly compared, it facilitates companies in entering new markets, and assist in the development of global trade on a fair basis. The standards also serve to safeguard consumers and the end-users of products and services, ensuring that certified products conform to the minimum standards set internationally.

Dajani added: “That is why this certification sets us apart from our competitors who are not ISO certified.”

This also, Dajani said, equips FEBC International to adequately deal with the challenges in the hospitality industry. One of the many challenges facing hotel owners and developers is how to appoint the right FF&E and OS&E procurement management consultant for their projects.

He explained: “The biggest challenge, in my opinion, for hotel owners and developers in the current market is how do they make the right decision in choosing the procurement management consultant that they can trust, and ensure they provide cost-efficient solutions without compromising the quality of the owners’ or developers’ FF&E and OS&E purchasing requirements or the timely delivery with meeting the project time-line.”

Having worked with a variety of developers and owners, Dajani stressed everyone has their own differentiated visions when it comes to building a hotel. He said: “When hiring a procurement consultant, it is essential for a developer/owner to have the comfort of knowing that they are working with a team of diverse professionals coming from different backgrounds, who specialise in various disciplines.”

He revealed he follows this approach in the workplace, with his team using their varied backgrounds to deliver the best possible service to clients.

“We take on the things our clients can’t do and build on the things that they can. This is what I would call a successful partnership,” he concluded.
