The atmosphere is buzzing at Grand Hyatt Doha, where more than 150 delegates from Qatar’s hospitality industry are arriving to hear the industry movers and shakers discuss hot topics.
Hotelier is delighted to be back in Doha for the annual conference, which brings together department heads and general managers from hotels across the GCC.
The room is packed as Chris Hewett, senior consultant for TRI Consulting, kicks off the event with an exciting exclusive presentation. So far he has reveled that Qatar's tourism industry has seen a 13.8% growth YOY, and 40% of visitors come from the GCC, with the majority from Saudi Arabia.
Following his presentation, Hewett will moderate the first panel discussion of the day on Destination Qatar. Almost a year on from the launch of the Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030, Doha's hospitality sector is seeing marked improvements.
Throughout the course of the day, panel discussions will cover increased supply and whether this is healthy for the industry as a whole, social media and how it can help hotels take back some revenue from OTAs, and developing world class teams - one of the key pillars of the industry.
There will be networking opportunities throughout the day for delegates to meet with their peers and with the event's sponsors: Ronai, Protect-a-Bed, Infoscape, Papercats, Meat & Livestock Australia, Mulwarra and Coffee Planet.
