Jannah Hotels and Resorts announces the Burj Al Sarab hotel will open on 20 May in the Abu Dhabi Central Business District.

Located on Mina Street in Al Zahiyat, Jannah Burj Al Sarab, the 318 key hotel will most likely appeal to business travellers due to its location, but the hotel says it will cater to leisure travellers as well.

Hotelier reported on the new appointment of hotel manager Lennart Maas in April, bringing with him the experience of opening the prestigious Banana Island Resort in Qatar. The hotel will be managed jointly by Jannah and al Rubaya Group.

Jannah Hotels and Resorts CEO Nemhe Imad Darwiche said: "Opening a new hotel in such an up and coming business district, coupled with expanding our current portfolio, heralds an exciting time for our relatively new company. The brand new Jannah Burj Al Sarab will further this, ensuring we cater to business travellers' needs through close proximity to the business hub of Abu Dhabi".

The property has 224 Jannah Deluxe King / Twin rooms, 66 Jannah Deluxe Suites, 22 one bed Suites, two penthouse suites and four Royal Suites. F&B will include international dining brands, 300 sqm of meeting facilities and a rooftop recreation area featuring outdoor pool, gym and coffee shop.

The hotel is also marketing itself as a “smart hotel”, using apps and technology to control its heating and cooling, generate solar power, control the laundry and more. Bedding is transferred via tubes rather than being traditionally transported by housekeeping in lifts.

Maas said: "The Burj Al Sarab's range of executive suites are some of the most spacious around, making staying here a home away from home. Showcasing the latest in technology and connectivity aimed at easing the stress of business travel without compromising on style, comfort and service, the hotel will also be complemented by Jannah's renowned Karim service when it opens. Basically, we take care of everything so our guests can take care of business".

The Karim service is a butler service that goes beyond the traditional services, with the Karims (or genies) arranging couriers, booking event tickets, flights, yachts, finding schools for expat children and more. Maas says that the service ethos is “unobtrusive yet personalised”.

Opening their first hotel in September 2013, Jannah also plan to expand in the GCC and Mediterranean markets with their 2020 expansion plan for the hotel group.
