Kempinski Hotel Ajman has implemented Quick Response (QR) codes system to facilitate ordering food; this overwrites the use of phone and allows guests to order without being interrupted.

Commenting on the system, Kempinski Hotel Ajman director of food and beverage Anish Kuttan said: “We have placed the unique pyramids with QR codes on them in our guestrooms so that guests can scan the code with their smart phones or tablets and this automatically opens up the food and beverage menu.

“Guests can then place their orders with a few simple clicks. Menus are available in four different languages: English, German, Arabic and Russian.

“Since our resort is well-known for its stunningly beautiful, white-sand beach, we are delighted to give our guests the opportunity of ordering food simply by scanning the QR code while lying on their sun beds.

“The QR codes are placed on the sun lounger umbrellas, which makes them very easily accessible. One of the reasons why we chose this technology is for the convenience it gives to our “smart guests”, those who are inclined to technology.

“The highlight is definitely the speed of ordering - the moment you place your order, it is in the system and is directly forwarded to the kitchen. It’s the ease of ordering and the quickness of delivery that makes everything hassle-free,” added Kuttan.
