Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana will host dates festival, from June 1-15 2015, showcasing a variety of dates will be showcased along with their derivatives.
Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana general manager Mark Timbrell said: “The United Arab Emirates is keen to increase the cultivation of date palms as well as increase their productivity and quality.
Our initiative highlights the importance of maintaining the local production and marketing of dates as it is related to the heritage of the UAE, and to the fact that the Arab region is the original home of the date palm tree.
“We have organized this event to encourage date cultivation and to give the opportunity for the guests to pick the finest and best dates, as well as buy some of the many date derived products that are showcased.’’
Over the course of the 10 day festival, guests will discover more about dates, and explore their derivatives like date vinegar, syrup, jams, pickles, juices, sweets, etc.
