Ajman-based R Hotels in partnership with Tech Group has completed the piling and foundation work of its new property on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
The groundwork for the AED 10mn (US $2.7mn) project was completed two weeks ahead of deadline, with the second phase of construction of the 30,000 m2 resort to begin next month.
Samir Arora, VP for operations, R Hotels, commented: “With the total investment of AED 500 million ($136.2 million), our property on The Palm is one of our biggest development projects to date.
“Tech Group has done a great job on the project and now that the foundation has been completed, we expect to gain pace in the next stages of the project.”
The Group CEO of Tech Group, Shiraz Hasan, said: “Our business unit has worked diligently and closely with R Hotels team to complete the assigned task well within time.

“Since we are expanding our network of operations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this project will serve as a significant milestone for Tech Group in the times to come.”
Located at the East Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, R Hotels’ new hotel and resort is expected to open in the last quarter of 2016.
It is set to be the first four-star and sharia-compliant hotel and resort at renowned upmarket destination and will feature 253 rooms, a holistic wellness centre, two restaurants and family-friendly recreational facilities.
R Hotels’ new hotel and resort, which was first announced in November 2014, will be the group’s sixth property in the UAE.
Referring to the UAE and Dubai’s tourism vision, Arora added: “The UAE, particularly the emirate of Dubai has witnessed significant growth in the hospitality industry, as confirmed by the surge of tourists and additional number of rooms in the pipeline.
“R Hotels aim to maximize this opportunity by offering reasonably-priced yet high-quality hospitality product to the growing and diverse markets in the emirate.”
R Hotels recently signed a franchise agreement with Accor HotelServices Middle East to operate a Jumeirah property, set to open by Q4.
The 191-key hotel is situated in Al Mina Road, Jumeirah was acquired in September last year and features an all-day dining restaurant, banqueting facilities, a gym, swimming pool, concept spa and salon, and meeting space as well as a business centre.
