Rocco Forte Hotels will open its first Asia Pacific hotel in Shanghai in 2018, in partnership with Longhua International.
The hotel, which is yet to be named, will be a part of the Longhua International Aviation Service Centre, a new urban complex in Shanghai’s Xuhui Riverside area known as West Bund.
The Centre spans 7.2 hectares, with an overall floor space of 510,000 m2, dedicated to business and government office spaces, retail and fashion outlets, cultural amenities such as theatres, and other beautifully landscaped recreational spaces.
The hotel will take over the top 15 floors of the tallest building of the development and will include around 280 rooms and suites, three different restaurants, ballroom, spa and health facility.
The new property is a part of Rocco Forte’s expansion plans, which intends to double the number of hotels in the group over the next five years. The current portfolio comprises ten hotels in Europe, with the 302-key Assila Hotel and Residence scheduled to open in Jeddah this year.
