Why was it important for your company to support the Caterer Middle East Awards?

It’s important for the Australian red meat industry to support the catering industry, and we do this in a number of ways including training, marketing and events. Chefs across the region showcase the best dishes using True Aussie beef and lamb on a daily basis and it’s fantastic to be able to show our support at events such as the Caterer Awards which showcase the industry.

What was your favourite part of the event in June?

We always look forward to the event itself and to seeing familiar faces and meeting new players. This year the main course was a trio of fantastic Australian beef which was a stunning highlight of the evening and it’s always great to celebrate in everyone’s success.

What is the one trend you think is popular this year in the F&B industry?

Australian red meat is renowned as the best in the world, and we’d like to see the continued demand for consistent, delicious and safe halal Australian beef and lamb being used by chefs in innovative ways. We believe the trend of chefs exploring different cuts and cooking techniques is set to continue and grow.

Any news that we can expect from your company in the next 12 months?

MLA will continue to support the global roll-out of the True Aussie brand positioning, further growing demand for True Aussie beef and lamb through trade and consumer marketing initiatives. We are also committed to running Australian meat seminars across the MENA region, and educating key stakeholders in the supply chain, on the attributes of Australian red meat.
