Jeddah has set a world record for the longest table, measuring 1508 metres, with an iftar organised in the Saudi Arabian city.

According to the official Guinness World Records website, the record was achieved by Afia International company in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 5, 2015.

General public, charity houses and people with special needs attended the iftar dinner served, it reported.

Official adjudicators from the Guinness Book of Records attended the iftar to authorise it as a record, according to the Saudi Gazette.
