This year, The Pink Brigade returns in aid of breast cancer awareness, with the aim of raising funds for The Pink Caravan.

Last year, ex–Badia Golf Club executive chef Robbie Stokes rallied chefs around the UAE to support The Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation’s fundraising initiative ‘Dubai Goes Pink 2014’ by wearing pink–themed jackets. Now in the UK, he is in the process of launching The Pink Brigade there, with plans also underway to launch in Canada.

Galeries Lafayette culinary director food & beverage Russell Impiazzi said: “This was an excellent achievement considering we only started last year. It’s essential that we continue to come together as an industry to support each other and those affected by this disease.”

Once again, Bragard has supported the initiative by providing the jackets at AED 100 [US $27] per unit. Orders will have to be placed by August 15, 2015, and all jackets will be delivered by October 1, 2015.

Impiazzi added: “I know that by coming together with a common voice for an incredibly important cause will show that the hospitality industry has both the potential and power to really make a difference.”

The Pink Caravan has offered early breast cancer detection screenings to 29,000 women and men of all ages and nationalities across the country — free of cost.
