The Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) highlighted the need to increase the awareness of Ajman to its feeder market, after noting a 14% increase in hotel revenue during the second quarter of the year.
ATDD convened a quarterly meeting with hoteliers, tour operators and travel agencies participating. The committee - headed by HE Faisal Al Nuaimi, general manager of ATDD - reported that total revenue for the hotel and hotel apartments in Ajman grew by 14% in the second quarter of 2015 compared to the same period in 2014.
Khulood Khaled Al Nuami, director of tourism development and marketing presented the hotel industry statistics indicating an increase of 40% guests opting to spend the night at Ajman’s hotels, indicating that more guests are finding the emirate a good destination when visiting the UAE.

There were a total of 3,420 rooms and units occupied in Ajman during the second quarter, an increase of 14.5%. Visitors from within the country registered the highest occupancy levels, followed by GCC residents, Asian and Africans, other Arab countries and Russians. Out of which, Asians and Africans spent the highest number of guest nights followed by other Arab countries, Europeans, UAE and GCC.
Hind Al Marzooqi, head of marketing & tourism presented an updated road map for the emirate’s 2016 tourism sector. A plan of action for the November-bound World Travel Market in London was discussed and the team encouraged representatives to be equipped with all the needed information in order to promote the emirate at the travel fair.
The ATDD has set its sights on five million visitors annually by the year 2021.
