The major airports in the country are set to be busier than usual with a high frequency of incoming and outbound tourists in the country.
Hoteliers around the country are gearing up to welcome thousands of guests as many hotels are expected to run at full occupancy on the Eid Al Adha period.
Many residents have opted to spend their Eid break within the country, which has come as a massive boost to the country’s hotels. In the recent past, hoteliers have voiced their concern over a 13 month consecutive negative RevPAR.
“Many people cancelled their trips as they were expecting a longer Eid holiday, but this has benefited domestic travel as many hotels and resorts in the northern Emirates are at full capacity,” Conrad Caeiro, operations manager, Omeir Travel Agency told The National.
Airports in the country are forecasting a rise in tourists coming into the UAE for Eid Al Adha, though the number of visitors to Dubai this year for Eid Al Fitr was down 50% from last year.
“We also see an increase in the number of arriving passengers, with many tourists from around the GCC coming to enjoy the emirate’s hotels and cultural attractions,” Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operating officer, Abu Dhabi Airports told The National.
On the other hand, Emirates reported that an estimated 76,000 people booked flights. A majority of which will fly out on Friday.
