Six Senses Hotels Resorts & Spas has opened a 33,000ft2 Six Senses Spa at Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Muscat, Oman.
The opening saw the attendance of HH Sayyida Dr. Muna bint Fahd Al Said, Minister of Tourism, HE Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mehrazi along with HE Maitha bint Saif Al Mahrouqiya – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism.
Reflective of traditional Omani design, the spa features domed ceilings, arched walkways and columns, and falaj (water channels).
Housed on three levels much like an ancient Arabian fort, heavy wooden doors flank the entrance that leads into a smaller entryway. The spa comprises a large reception area with a ladies' majlis, two consultation rooms and a spa gallery featuring a variety of skincare and wellness lifestyle products.
With 17 treatment rooms and a myriad of wet facilities such as infrared saunas, steam rooms, ice showers and hammams, the facility also has activity studios where guests can experience Six Senses' yogic programmes.
A private ladies only club includes a gym, activity studio, relaxation area, hammam, sauna and steam, as well as ice shower. The facility also features a ladies only indoor pool and a private beach.

Bernhard Bohnenberger, president of Six Senses, said at a press conference: "Six Senses Spa at Al Bustan Palace will take the spa experience in the Middle East to a whole new level. Spa goers will enjoy a wide selection of signature massages, facials, wellness therapies and rituals plus body, beauty and fitness treatments. Treatment highlights include a series of locally-inspired signature body scrubs using indigenous ingredients to revitalise the body and mind.
Six Senses appointed Bangkok firms Februar as project architect and P49 for interior design.
