In keeping with its green initiatives, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman observed the 'Wyndham Worldwide Green Day' with a series of activities aimed at reducing carbon footprint.
Highlighting the “Living Plastic Free” campaign, the hotel encouraged the staff and guests to eliminate the use of plastic products. The activities include the distribution of recyclable bags made of non-woven fabric by the laundry department, and providing a reward to the staff with the most creative use of plastic alternatives.
The management also shared tips and information on how to reduce plastic consumption including a “Bring Your Own Bag” approach when shopping, and using mugs or metal tumblers instead of plastic bottles, among others.
Ramada Ajman will also conduct a consumption analysis report on plastic usage, alongside a waste audit, on how they were able to reduce the percentage of plastic products after the steps taken. The Hotel also planted more trees in its urban farm.
Iftikhar Hamdani, general manager, Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, “We fully support Wyndham’s Green initiatives, as our hotel has been very active in eco-activities over the past years. Our collective efforts on reducing plastic usage can help make a difference and these steps should be carried out not just on special events; but it should be made a regular practice.”
