'Intersect by Lexus', which is soon to launch in DIFC, has appointed Tomas Reger as executive chef.

The food lounge at the DIFC venue is set to offer dishes like beet and barley risotto; Chilean seabass with yuzu glazed turnips and slow cooked beef short ribs with celeriac puree.

"It is a great honour to be part of this groundbreaking lifestyle concept. This is the first time that the region will experience such a unique space so I want to ensure that the culinary experience is just as remarkable,” said Reger.

"To best describe the cuisine I like to call it ‘feel good food’ because none of the dishes are heavy or overcomplicated so they leave guests feeling nourished and invigorated. The cuisine is cosmopolitan with the main focus on ingredients and their natural flavor enhanced by modern cooking techniques."

Reger first moved to Dubai from London in 2007 to set up Steam Sum Dim Sum, a Chinese restaurant in Dubai Festival City. He has worked for a number of kitchens in the region including Beirut’s Sky Bar, Le Sushi Bar and The Junkyard.

He is also behind ‘Dubai’s Secret Supper Club’, ‘From One Chef To Another’ and ‘Bloomie’s Kitchen’.

The concept is one where people can experience the Lexus brand without getting behind a steering wheel. Neither a dealership, nor a traditional retail space, guests will be able to engage with Lexus through food, design, art, fashion, culture, movies, music and technology.

Intersect to Lexus has already opened in Aoyama, Tokyo, in 2013. In December 2015, it will be officially inaugurated in Dubai in DIFC. The space is designed by Masamichi Katayama, founder of the interior design firm Wonderwall.
