Approximately 1.9 million tourists arrived to the Sultanate of Oman by the end of September 2015, according to statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Research indicates that visitors arriving from Gulf States ranked first, followed by India, Britain and Omani nationals.

A total of 275,000 visitors were recorded in the month of September, with an 85.1% increase compared with September 2014, according to Oman-based Al Watan newspaper.

144,000 visitors came from the Gulf States (excluding Omanis); this is equal to 52.4% of the total arrivals during September 2015.

The data indicated that Indian, British and Omani nationalities ranked in second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Statistics also showed that the total hotel revenue generated in three- to five-star hotels reached $340 million by the end of September. The total number of guests reached 819,607 during this same period.
