New chef de cuisine and assistant food and beverage manager appointed at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham, Dubai.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham has appointed Rusindu Rodrigo as new chef de cuisine while Channa Rodrigo has been appointed as the property’s assistant food and beverage manager.

Rusindu Rodrigo is in charge of the kitchen operation of the property’s two outlets - Flavours all-day dining restaurant and Pan Asia Restaurant, in addition to the in-room dining service and developing the hotel menu.

Prior to his new role Rusindu Rodrigo, a Sri Lankan national with 15 years food & beverage experience was the sous chef of Ramada Downtown Dubai and also briefly took on the role as kitchen-in-charge during the pre-opening of ibis Styles Jumeira.

In his role as assistant food & beverage manager, Channa Rodrigo will be working closely with the sales and marketing department in coming up with year-round promotions and activities with the aim of increasing revenue and profitability.

Before joining the hotel, Channa Rodrigo gained 20 years of experience in the food & beverage industry, including roles as the operations manager of Mint Leaf of London, Dubai, and the food & beverage manager of Arabian Courtyard Hotel and Spa, and Carlton Tower Hotel Dubai.
