Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche has selected a new executive assistant manager for the hotel, appointing Mehdi Hanayen to the role.

Hanayen moves across to the new role from a previous position within the hotel as director of food and beverage. He was also part of the property’s pre-opening team in 2011.

Hanayen has worked with the Sofitel group since 2008, when he started work with the Sofitel El Gezirah in Cairo, Egypt.

He also worked as part of the Sofitel pre-opening teams at Sofitel Zallaq Thallassa Sea and Spa in Bahrain, and Sofitel The Palm in Dubai, UAE.

Commenting on the appointment, Hanayen said: “It’s a great responsibility and honour to oversee the hotel’s operation with over 200 Sofitel ambassadors at an award-winning property like Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche.”

In his new role at Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, Hanayen will be responsible for hotel operations, specifically the rooms department (front office, housekeeping), F&B (kitchen, service, and hygiene), events, spa, security and engineering departments.

Hanayen will also be tasked with assisting the general manager and department heads to monitor service quality and guest satisfaction.
