Cristal Group has appointed Roland Debs as general manager of the Cristal Erbil Hotel in Iraq.
Debs’ career spans two decades, during which he has worked across three continents, including roles with the Intercontinental Hotels Group in Europe and the Middle East.
Making the announcement, Peter Blackburn, CEO of Cristal Group said: "Debs is a seasoned hotel professional with an established track record in the industry. We are confident under his leadership the property will perform at the highest level."

Debs’ experience spans across all aspects of the hospitality industry - from hotel openings to revamping and rebranding, mounting hospitality divisions and consulting.
"I am excited about this new challenge and pleased to be part of the Cristal Group. It is a wonderful opportunity and I look forward to establishing the hotel as a business and leisure address in Erbil," Debs said.
Debs holds an MBA degree from the ESCP Europe (Grandes Ecoles). He has also completed certificate courses from the Cornell University.
The Cristal Erbil Hotel is located in the city, 15 minutes away from the airport. The property features 100 rooms and suites.
