Drinkware company Drinique has signed a global distribution partnership with Steelite International, and is debuting its products in the Middle East at Gulfood.

The company signed the deal in May 2015, and saw the products launch at NRA in Chicago, and recently presented at Ambiente. After its Gulfood debut, the brand will showcase at Hotelympia in London.

Based in Arizona, the firm creates plastic drinkware made with 'Eastman Tritan Copolyester', which is guaranteed not to crack or break.

Drinique VP of marketing Hamid Charoosaie told Caterer Middle East: "The biggest difference is that other plastic drinkware is made from acrylic or polycarbonate. So the problem with them is that when you put it in a high heat dishwasher, it leads to immediate cracking, and breaking from the high heat - because polycarbonate cannot hold up to that heat."

Reiterating that the Drinique drinkware is made from polyster, Charoosaie said the firm offers a lifetime guarantee from cracking or breaking.

The design of the drinkware is created to resemble glass as much as possible.

While the firm started out in the US primarily with nightclubs as clients, with the assistance of Steelite, it is now capitalising on a broader market including hotel pools, beach clubs and F&B outlets in general.
