Basmati rice exportor enters Guinness World Records at Gulfood 2016 with the world's heaviest bag of rice.

KRBL Limited, the world’s largest rice millers and Basmati rice exporters, has entered the Guinness record books with a bag of rice from its India Gate Classic Basmati Rice brand weighing 550kgs.

The new record was achieved at Gulfood 2016 when the bag was filled in a single day by a dedicated team at KRBL DMCC’s Al Quoz warehouse before being driven on a truck to Dubai World Trade Centre, (DWTC).

Speaking to Caterer Middle East at the event about the importance of the Middle East market, KRBL director Priyanka Mittal said: “This is a very important region for us, 85% of India’s exports in Basmati rice comes to the Middle East, so this is our biggest market after India; naturally being at Gulfood is important to our continued progress.”
