The first ever UAE National Aeropress Coffee Championship took place on Saturday March 19 in Dubai. The event was held in the courtyard at Al Fahidi District, next to the Dubai Coffee Museum.

The panel of judges at the event included Garfield Kerr from Mokha 1450, Kim Thompson from Raw Coffee, Matt Wade from Sabado Coffee Club (formerly of Coffee Planet), Stefan Graac from Karam Coffee, and Khalid Al Mulla from Easternmen & Co and Dubai Coffee Museum.

The winners were announced at the event on Saturday evening. Grant Suder from the USA took first place at the event, as the UAE's first ever national Aeropress Champion.

Second place went to Luke P. Quiampang from the Philippines. Third place went to Mohamed Ali Mohamed, representing the UAE.

Grant Suder, the new UAE Aeropress Champion will be flown expenses paid to the World Aeropress Championship taking place in Dublin, Ireland on June 23, 2016.
