Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) has made a call out to independent and innovative Omani businesses that wish to apply for F&B or retail space at the new Bazaar Al Mina in Muscat.

The Bazaar Al Mina will be the first project at the new 451,000 square metres Mina Sultan Qaboos Waterfront development in Muscat. The Bazaar is currently expected to open in November 2016.

In a recent statement, Omran has expressed that Bazaar Al Mina ought to act as “a modern business incubator” for new Omani businesses in the F&B and retail sectors.

Current plans for the 3,300 square metre Bazaar Al Mina include space for 40 vendors, including permanent retail spaces as well as a regular pop-up street food market.

Omran senior development manager Fahad Al Hinai commented: “The objective of ‘Bazaar Al Mina’ is to invest-in and accelerate high potential local start-ups and businesses with innovative and creative ideas to sustainably grow their business in the long term.

“Bazaar Al Mina is an opportunity to discover the innovative ideas that will help to boost the tourism sector by creating new experiences and values for consumers. We are looking for high-potential, high-growth ideas that will provide great services. Innovation and creativity are the main criteria.”
