Dimara Hospitality & Trading, Qatar managing director Farah Aslam speaks about the importance of the Qatar hospitality summit.

Why is it important that you support the Hotelier Middle East Qatar Hospitality Summit 2016?
The Qatar Hospitality Summit is a critical event that analyses and opens a platform of discussion for the hospitality industry within Doha. With the current increase of the growth rate in the tourism sector in Doha and the plans for the country in 2030, it is all the more important to have open platforms of discussion. We thank ITP, for hosting such events that stimulate discussion, and encourage open dialogue that benefit the industry tremendously.

What do you think are the main challenges facing Qatar hotel GMs in 2016?
The main issues that GMs are facing in Qatar are usually the lack of having quality service providers within Doha, and the delays that affect operations as a result. Many Dubai based companies offer services/consultancies/products to hotels, however they do not have a physical presence. Taking into consideration the requests from our clients, and our focus on hospitality within in Qatar, Dimara Group has established a branch in Doha. Our new office in Doha, will be operating as Dimara Hospitality & Trading, Qatar.

What most excites you about the Qatar hotel industry in 2016?
Many Dubai-based companies offer services/consultancies/products to hotels, however they do not have a physical presence. Taking into consideration the requests from our clients, and our focus on hospitality within Qatar, Dimara Group has established a branch in Doha. 

What are the main topics you expect to come up at the Hotelier Middle East Qatar Hospitality Summit 2016?
The main topics expected are the plans for hospitality post 2022, the challenges that are expected, and the increased competition faced currently due to the increased number of room keys.

What are the latest product launches from your company?
We have recently launched designer guest amenities (toiletries) by Bottega Venetta, Trussardi, and Maison Margiela. We are also collaborating with renowned designers such as Etro to offer bespoke linen for hospitality, and with Ascolia to offer premium front office/back of house/ and housekeeping trolleys and guest room equipment in the Middle East

What other news can we expect from your company in 2016/2017?
Dimara is officially launching its Doha Office in April 2016, and is very proud to be of service to all of our clients in Qatar. Dimara International has been recently given the title of “The Fastest Growing Small & Medium Enterprise”, “The No.1 Small & Medium Enterprise”, and “The Best Commercial Business”, all while receiving a Label for CSR. We will also be launching additional collaborations with international fashion brands, which will be announced in the coming months.
