The number of Saudi Arabian tourists anticipated to return to Egypt looks set to rise due to the proposed new King Salman Bridge.

Egypt would likely see Saudi tourists travelling to the country rise by 500% with the proposed new King Salman Bridge connecting the two countries, according to an Egyptian tourist consultant on the Kingdom and Gulf States, Ahmad Ismael.

A campaign launched with the hashtag, #thisisegypt is anticipated to attract more Arab travellers from the Middle East for the summer and Ramadan.

Ismael added he was happy with the rise in the number of tourists from the Gulf Cooperation Council.

He was quoted saying plans to further boost these figures include easing of visa requirements for expatriates living in the Middle East for at least six months.
