Dubai’s Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa is the only property in the Middle East so far to have joined Marriott International’s Autograph Collection.

This month, Autograph Collection Hotels will celebrate the milestone of reaching 100 hotels within its portfolio of independently run and operated hotels.

Autograph Collection Hotels director sales & marketing Vivienne La Page told Hotelier Middle East during Arabian Travel Market: “We are just about to announce our 100th hotel, although we talk about each one of our hotels being an experience, so it’s our 100th experience that we are able to offer our customers."

Owned by Marriott International, Autograph Collection Hotels describes itself as 'an evolving ensemble of strikingly independent hotels'.

Revealing how a property becomes part of Autograph, La Page said: “They each need to be able to offer their own iconic brand. Most of them are franchise partners with us or they have a licence agreement, so we go in and install our systems and technology to support that independent operator.”

“They are their own brands. We give them the endorsement of Autograph Collection once they can prove [themselves] to us."

The Middle East region is currently home to one Autograph Collection property – Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, located along Jumeirah Beach in Dubai.

This was the first Middle Eastern property to join Autograph Collection, which launched in January 2010.

La Page revealed to Hotelier Middle East that the brand ancitipates signing two more hotels joining Autograph Collection, both in Dubai, by year end.

These are La Ville Hotel & Suites City Walk Dubai and Lapita Hotel Autograph Collection.
