Dubai's Ruler has exempted Saudi Arabia from a GCC theme park deal, allowing the Kingdom to pursue plans with US operator Six Flags.

Reports say Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced that Dubai Parks & Resorts (DPR) would provide all support necessary for a proposed Six Flags development in Saudi.

The move was announced in a tweet by Dubai Media Office.

The launch of Six Flags in Saudi Arabia forms part of the country's Vision 2030 plans.
