The opening of Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay will be delayed until 2017 as a result of some design changes, reported sister title ConstructionWeekOnline.
The 42-storey Waldorf Astoria hotel, which is managed by Hilton Worldwide, is located in the heart of the modern business and diplomatic West Bay district.
It is close to the Qatar Stock Exchange and near the newly constructed Doha Convention Centre, which opened earlier this year.
Zawya Projects was told by the operator that it will open in the second quarter of 2017 because it had fallen behind schedule owing to changes in the hotel’s design.
The overall budget of the project has also increased to US $233 million.
The management agreement between Hilton Worldwide and La Jolla was signed in 2013.
