Do you see commercial potential in the mid-market hospitality sector?
Absolutely. The mid-market sector will have the largest inventory of new builds before 2020. The government has already given incentives to developers and owners to grow this sector before Expo 2020. It is also apparent that there has been an increasing number of business travellers looking for mid-range hotels offering better amenities and services.
What sets your brand apart from the competition?
The brands that we represent offer high quality with value options, thus giving the owner a five-star product, at a very competitive price. For example, Athena Tableware offers personalised solutions to meet our customers’ needs at a reasonable price. The brand is known for having an array of products available for the food and beverage industry and collaborating with famous designers, such as Nick Munro.
Why do hoteliers choose you over other suppliers?
Hotelity provides the flexibility to offer a complete OS&E solution from in-room products to F&B requirements. All of our products offer options from latest trends to value, thus encompassing our offering to mid-market hotels in the region. For example, SafeMark Safes are a practical solution for the room security needs within hotels, offering ease of use and not overly engineered technology. These secure safes are low maintenance and durable to ensure safety to guest’s valuables at a low cost.

Have you encountered any obstacles developing your business in this region?
Budget and mid-market hotel clients perceived our products not to fit into their price range. However, with partners like Safemark, Athena, Krosno we customised a range of products which would cater specifically to the budget hotels without compromising on the quality. For example Safemark introduced Tribute model which has all the features of the top-end models of Safemark, however is cost effective.
Do you have mid-market expansion plans in the region?
Yes we do. Hotelity has recently launched H-lab – a concept driven showroom where hoteliers can create a full mock-up for a hotel bedroom, banquet, buffet, restaurant and coffee shop. This allows hospitality professionals to be more creative in the development of their concept ideas. We have also recently become representatives for many of our brands for the Middle East region as both the principals and clients see the value in this.
