With a surge in technological advances designed specifically for the hospitality industry, The Hotel Show Dubai 2016 is set to debut a dedicated new feature when it opens this month.

Tech start-ups and major global brands will launch new products in the ‘Tec-Innovation Zone’, to feature alongside The Hotel Show’s extended list of exhibitors and TecSec Summit conference. Combined, the Technology and Security Pavilion now takes up almost a quarter (22%) of the event’s 17th edition.

Sponsored by LG Electronics, the Tec-Innovation Zone will showcase: the world’s first OLED Hotel TV (LG); hotel guest private WiFi network options (Airangel); digital F&B menu solutions (dyna-menu by Dunamis); SIP hospitality business phones with integrated DECT (VTech); a left-items returns service (Return Hound); and more.

“In the past, consumers looked for a hotel with a clean room and a comfortable bed but today’s traveller is looking for a totally new level of comfort and convenience that only technology can provide,” said Audai Altaie, director of sales at LG Electronics MEA.

Alongside the Tec-Innovation Zone, more than 75 technology and security suppliers will showcase extended ranges of the latest products and services of interest to the region’s hospitality industry including: Bang & Olufsen; Greentec Automation DMCC; Assa Abloy Hospitality; Salto Systems; dorma+kaba, and Interel.

Interel has the largest stand planned for the 2016 Technology and Security Pavilion. It is set to showcase its online water management system, and its group CEO Florian Gallini said: "This ground-breaking solution, and a world’s first for the hospitality industry, enables hoteliers to take sustainability and guest experience in their hotels to a whole new level with digital guest controls for showers, basins and more, enabling constant optimisation through online data collection and central monitoring of hotel room water usage.”

The Hotel Show Dubai 2016 event director Gary Williams said: "Each year the Technology and Security Pavilion at The Hotel Show grows and becomes more interactive, with model hotel rooms constructed to provide visitors with a ‘live’ take on the latest in-room automation methods, security systems, and more."

The Hotel Show Dubai will take place on September 17-19 2016, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
