Abu Dhabi's hospitality sector reported a 3.9% increase in supply in rooms while the demand decreased 3% in September compared to the same month last year.
STR's preliminary September 2016 data for the UAE capital stated there was a decrease of 6.7% in occupancy to 68.9% and a 6.4% decline in average daily rate (ADR) to US $109 (AED 400.50).
The report also stated that Abu Dhabi hotels experienced a 12.6% decrease in revenue per available room (RevPAR) to $75.09 (AED 275.80).
However, UAE's capital has reported the lowest absolute ADR levels for September since 2005. At the same time, ADR in the market increased from August which was $94.91 (AED 348.61).
