AccorHotels has signed a management agreement with Acropole Holdings Limited for the Novotel Downtown Dubai in Dubai, with construction work on the hotel set to commence in February 2017, and an anticipated opening date prior to Expo 2020.

The Novotel Downtown Dubai will be located on Burj Khalifa Street, serving as an upper-midscale option in an area with a large concentration of upscale and luxury properties, an official statement has said.

A spokesperson for Acropole Holdings Limited Mahesh Ramchandani commented: “We are pleased to have signed an agreement with AccorHotels to manage our upcoming hotel in Downtown Dubai. We believe that this partnership with AccorHotels will be a fruitful collaboration for Acropole, given AccorHotels' strong track record in the region and globally as one of the top performing international hotel operators. Together we hope to make this property in Downtown Dubai a great success and look forward to future partnerships with AccorHotels.”

AccorHotels Middle East managing director & chief operating officer Olivier Granet said: “It is a privilege for us to partner with Acropole Holdings as they expand into the development of hotels in Dubai. I am certain that through our expertise in the hospitality industry combined with Acropole Holdings’ vast experience across a number of real estate development projects in the Middle East and Africa; we will be able to create a unique and differentiated offering for guests looking for greater options and variety in the Downtown Dubai area.”

The hotel will offer 266 rooms and will include five food and beverage outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, a sports bar, a rooftop lounge bar and a lobby café, in addition to a number of meeting rooms.

AccorHotels currently operates 87 hotels in the Middle East, encompassing over 26,300 rooms across the luxury to economy segments. The group’s regional network also includes 80 hotels under development, bringing close to 24,000 additional rooms to the Middle East.
