Deutsche Hospitality is expanding its presence in Egypt with a new hotel in Damietta, which will open in 2018.
The Steigenberger Hotel El Lessan Ras El-Bar will be located at the waterfront of a peninsula formed by the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the banks of the Damietta Nile Branch, with the Ras El Bar Lighthouse 300 metres away and connected with the hotel by a pier.
The hotel consists of 158 rooms and suites, two restaurants and a roof terrace. Its facilities include a swimming pool alongside with a kids pool, a health spa and gym as well as two banquet halls.
Deutsche Hospitality CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: "This is another step to grow internationally with our hotel brands. With our tenth property in Egypt, we strengthen our position in this country of rich history."
The hotel will be operated by Deutsche Hospitality under a management agreement, with the hotel owned by the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels (HOTAC), which is also the contract partner for the Steigenberger El Tahrir Hotel in Cairo.
