Three new hotels will open in Muscat next year, providing around 500 rooms, according to the times of Oman.
The Ministry of Tourism said the three-star Al Irfan International Hotel is expected to open in Q1 of 2017, located in Bausher, offering 152 guest rooms.
Another three-star hotel, located in greater Muttrah, with 120 rooms, is set to open by the middle of the year.

A third hotel, the four-star, 215-room Sundus Rotana, is reported to begin hosting guests in Q3 of 2017.

New openings beyond 2017 include, the three-star Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Al Khuwair, with 232 rooms, expected to open in mid-2018, and a five-star Intercontinental Tilal Muscat, with 244 rooms, expected to open by 2019 end.
The ministry said: “These hotels are designed to cater to all types of travellers visiting the Sultanate.”
The Ministry of Tourism undersecretary Maitha Al Mahrouqi added that Oman is looking at a growth in tourism of 8-12% per year.
