Capital Club Bahrain aims to put Bahrain on the global map and is hosting Michelin-starred and World's 50 Best chefs at its venue for a series of special events.

The next visit is from chef Thomas Troisgros, who runs the kitchen of Olympe Restaurant in Rio de Janeiro; he will be at the venue from March 28-30 with a menu prepared especially for the event.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 2005, Troisgros worked with chefs such as Daniel Boloud, Andoni Aduriz and Juan Mari Arzak. He since won a Michelin star at his restaurant and was listed among the world's 50 best Latin American restaurants by World's 50 Best.

Celebrity Chef series is an initiative that began when its general manager Sumeet Jhingan joined the venue in mid-2016. The aim of the series is to improve restaurant offering in Bahrain by hosting and collaborating with top chefs from across the world each month in 2017.

In addition to hosting the renowned chefs, young Bahraini chefs are being given the opportunity to work alongside the guest chefs.

Jhingan told Caterer Middle East: "Our goal is to put Bahrain on the culinary world map; from September we have brought in international chefs such as Jaime Pesaque of Mayta, Jean Paul Bostoen of three Michelin-star Auberge De L’Ill, Chef Gerardo Vazquez Lugo from Nicos, and for this month Thomas Troisgros of Olympe. We have other rosters of Top 50 chefs lined up until the end of the year.

"Capital Club Bahrain has signed up with Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Retail (BIHR) offering an opportunity for its Bahraini students to be trained at the club. Selected students will have the pleasure to travel abroad and work with Michelin starred and Top 50 chefs for further experience under the sponsorship of the club."

He added: "We also want to connect the guest chefs to different restaurants, hotel operators and individual investors both in Bahrain and KSA to open their restaurants in the country - which will eventually create more job opportunities by having world class venues for locals and tourists."

Capital Club Bahrain has already secured its next chef: Kamilla Seidler, who was named 2016's Latin America's Best Female Chef by World's 50 Best. Seidler will be in Bahrain from April 11-13.
