Wyndham Hotel Group is looking at developing its Dolce brand of hotels and resorts in the region.
It’s regional vice president Ignace Bauwens told Hotelier Middle East that there is scope to develop the brand, which currently lacks presence in the Middle East and Africa.
“There are opportunities, we are seeking to develop the Dolce brand which suits the MICE market perfectly because Dolce is all about the conferences facilities, coupled with several F&B outlets and many rooms in the inventory,” he said.

Wyndham’s strategy in the Middle East and Africa will be to continue developing its brand in the mid-scale and economy segments, and Bauwens feels Wyndham has the right brands to plug the gaps that are present in markets such as Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi.
“That is not to say we do not want to develop our luxury brands, which obviously includes Dolce but Wyndham Grand as well. We currently have one Wyndham Grand operating in Doha, and another is scheduled to open its doors in Manama, Bahrain later this year,” he said.
