Wyndham Rewards, Wyndham Hotel Group’s guest loyalty programme, has surpassed 50 million members worldwide.

The operator said the “major achievement for the recently re-imagined programme” highlights the expansion of the company’s brands.

The milestone member enrolled earlier this week at the newly opened Wyndham Grand Xiamen in China.

Meanwhile, in EMEA Wyndham Hotel Group’s portfolio is 430 hotels strong, with plans for further expansion. Globally, the company offers more than 8,000 hotels across 77 countries under 18 brands.

Wyndham’s president and managing director for EMEA Dan Ruff said: “Wyndham Rewards members can earn and redeem points in more locations than ever before. Our portfolio is stronger than ever, giving our members the chance to earn and redeem points for aspirational experiences in destinations such as London, Berlin, Dubai, Barcelona, Athens and many more.”

Wyndham Rewards was originally launched in 2004 and was completely re-imagined in the summer of 2015. It offers members a guaranteed 1,000 points with every qualified stay and a free night at more than 8,000 hotels for a flat rate of 15,000 points.

Most recently, the programme unveiled a multi-year integration across Wyndham Worldwide and its vacation rental and vacation ownership portfolios.

This has allowed Wyndham Rewards members to redeem points at more than 17,000 holiday homes and apartments worldwide and by late 2018 they will also have the ability to earn and redeem points at the majority of Wyndham Worldwide’s more than 120,000-property portfolio.

Senior vice president of worldwide loyalty and engagement Noah Brodsky said: “Wyndham Rewards re-thinks what a hotel loyalty programme can be and instead of gimmicky tricks, focuses on delivering meaningful and attainable rewards to our members, no matter where they are in the world and or how frequently they’re able to travel.”
