Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai has announced the appointment of Nicolas Chammaa as resident manager and Marco Frare as director of communications, with both gentlemen joining the hotel's executive team.
Chammaa, a Lebanese national, joins Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai from Makati Shangri-La, Manila in the Philippines where he also held the position of resident manager. With a background in food and beverage as well as senior hotel operations, Chammaa has worked with the Shangri-La group for over 10 years. Chammaa will be responsible for operations of the hotel’s 492 hotel rooms, serviced apartments and private residences.
Frare, an Italian national, joins from Palazzo Versace, Dubai where he held the position of director of marketing and communications. Frare has previously worked at InterContinental Dubai Festival City, Armani Hotel Milan and Burj Al Arab.
Frare will be responsible for all marketing and communications initiatives throughout the hotel including the upcoming launch of renovated rooms, agency relationships and guest communications.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nicolas and Marco to the hotel. Both have extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry and will be valuable assets moving forward,” general manager Gerhard Hecker said in a statement.
