Fitness equipment producer Technogym  will be rolling out two new products in the Middle East, namely, the Skillmill, the company's non-motorised version of a treadmill, and the Skillrow, the company's indoor rowing equipment capable of  improving anaerobic power, aerobic capacity and neuromuscular abilities in a single self-powered solution. Both products are part of Technogym's Skill Line portfolio, a range of new products developed in collaboration with Olympic athletes and academic research institutes, Technogym division manager Athanasios Botsis revealed recently to Hotelier Qatar.

Botsis expressed his enthusiasm for prospects of potential business in health, wellness and sports equipment in Qatar, saying that even though the market is presently undergoing challenges, these are for the short-term and that upcoming growth projections look promising.

"The hospitality industry in Qatar is facing challenges and will continue to be facing it in the near future, " he said. "It is important to know how to deal with it and be pro-active, efficient, to manage it and be innovative."

He added that the 2017 Qatar Hospitality Summit provides a timely platform for showcasing his company's latest innovations for the hospitality industry.

"The 2017 Qatar Hospitality Summit is a big event and provides an opportunity of discussion for the hospitality industry within Doha, enabling industry stakeholders to be updated by new trends in the sector," Botsis said. "Growth is upcoming in Qatar so a gathering such as the summit is an opportunity to learn about the latest in hospitality industry issues in Qatar and its future development as well as meet industry leaders."

Botsis said that he is looking forward to introducing hospitality industry stakeholders in the Middle East about the latest in wellness and sports innovation that should meet "the most demanding" consumer needs in terms of software-enhanced solutions for cardio and strength training.
