The M Gallery by Sofitel that’s scheduled to open in a few months will be possibly classified under a new classification by DTCM, R Hotels Cluster general manager Samir Arora told Hotelier Middle East.
“We have moved away from the four-star category. DTCM is currently contemplating offering us a special category – the wellness category. That’s because we are now signing various synergies with the local authorities. And we will be the first wellness resort. Hopefully that will work out,” Arora said.
“We are also signing a major MoU with the Dubai health authority on Tuesday (April 25),” he added.
In addition, Arora gave a breakdown of the brand ethos that the hotel will follow. “M Gallery by Sofitel is a very niche sort of brand and we will have a lot of ladies only areas, in fact as much as 10,000 sq. ft. is reserved for things such as a – saloon, spa treatment rooms, consultations rooms, ladies –only yoga and Pilates centre, relaxation room and several other facets.
“M Gallery’s tagline is – inspired by her. The whole ideology is geared towards looking after single ladies travellers. Several amenities will also be dedicated specially for ladies.”
He said that the hotel, although 255 rooms in size, will have a boutique feel to it. “The plot size is very boutique, it’s not as stretched as some of the other resorts on the Palm Jumeirah. You have everything within your eye’s reach.”
