Ras Al Khaimah Travel Development Authority (RAKTDA) has revealed that work on its Jebel Jais related projects are on in full swing - which will soon include an ice rink at the viewing deck. 

RAK TDA CEO Haitham Mattar said: "The World's longest zip line will open by the end of this year as well."

A viewing deck, "which is a public park located at 1,300 metres high will also open soon."

"It will have a community square which will will have activities throughout the year, and will also include an ice skating," Mattar said.

He clarified that it will not be in operation during other months and will rely solely on the climatic conditions that favour the activity.

"There are a couple of months where the average temperature is 4-5 deg. C," Mattar told Hotelier at the Arabian Travel Market 2017.

The Via Ferrata, which opened a few months ago, will close at the end of the May and will reopen at the end of October this year.

Mattar said: "Currently it takes up to 16 people, and it seems to be full everyday because of the high demand we have received.

"When we re-open in October we will be able to take up to 200 people."
