Abu Dhabi-based hotel management company, Rotana, is looking to double its staff strength by 2020 from 13,000 to 25,000, according to a recent report by sister publication ArabianBusiness.com.

In the next three years alone Rotana will add 12,054 rooms to its inventory, taking the total number to 27,087.

Hotelier Middle East previously reported that Rotana is set to open four new properties in Abu Dhabi by 2020, with a total investment valued at US$300 million, president and CEO Omer Kaddouri said.

Two hotels are expected to open this year: the 315-room Pearl Rotana in the third quarter, and 354-room Saadiyat Rotana Resort & Villas for the fourth quarter.These openings will be followed by the opening of the 326-room Beach Arjaan by Rotana in the third quarter of 2018 and 376-room Marina Mall Arjaan by Rotana by 2020.

“Upon completion, the new hotels will add 1,371 keys to Rotana’s existing inventory in Abu Dhabi and take our total number of hotels in the capital to 16. The projects represent a combined value of $300 million,” said Omer Kaddouri.

Rotana now has nine hotels set to open in the Omani Sultanate by 2020, and once complete, will add more than 1,600 keys to its existing inventory of 400 rooms in Oman.
