Sesame, a new restaurant based in Sunset Mall, aims to showcase the therapeutic applications of its dishes.
“Sesame is a new crop of plant forward food, with combined cooking techniques, style and flavours from around the globe. We created Sesame from the ground up, fuelled by determination to share nourishing food,” said founding partners Neha Jamani and Irina Sharma.
Jamani, who studied to become a holistic chef at the Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition & Culinary Arts in Berkeley, California, says Sesame is a health-conscious restaurant committed to sharing clean, delicious, wholesome and living foods that nourish the body. The restaurant will offer dishes that not only focus on flavour and taste, but also share insights on how they can have therapeutic applications for illness prevention, recovery and optimal health.
A communications practitioner, educator and advocate of healthy longevity lifestyle, Sharma says what makes Sesame distinctive from the diverse range of restaurants already operating in Dubai is its plant forward menu. It embraces honesty and transparency about the food which is created from scratch.
Also part of the team is chef Gohei Kishi, a food development consultant who is known for his unconventional cooking methods and creativity in the kitchen. Kishi brings his skills from his global experience working in Michelin Star restaurant Kappou Nakajima, head of Asian concepts for Gordan Ramsay Group and group executive chef for Ramasaki.
Speaking about the collaboration Kishi said, “I am very pleased to involve myself in this independent home-grown concept. I can see that Sesame has something fresh to offer and excited to work with dishes that creatively combine technique, style and flavours from around the world in a way that supports nourishment. And it will be exciting what new dishes we can create giving our guests unique experiences, preferences and dietary needs.”
Sesame Restaurant is located at Level 1, Sunset Mall, Jumeirah Beach Road, Jumeirah 3.
